Alice Alice Maya, who recently turned 6 years old, lives with Dravet Syndrome, a severe and life limiting form of epilepsy. She was only four months when she started having seizures. Her seizures are mostly generalised very long tonic clonic episodes (status) with the longest being approximately 80 minutes. She needs constant supervision during the day and night to ensure prompt intervention to stop the crisis. We are extremely grateful to The Daisy Garland Charity for supporting our family and providing us our epilepsy monitor. Alice has always slept with us but now that she is 6 years old she seems to seek a bit of independence that would not be possible without a reliable system to monitor her seizure and her night movement. These would also help us to check if she is leaving her bed as she cannot walk around safely on her own.
