I wanted to say thank you to The Daisy Garland charity who have given us so much support over the past couple of months. Georgia was diagnosed with epilepsy aged 4 and our whole world turned upside down, one day she was a healthy 4 year old little girl and the next she was in status and on a ventilator. Since then we’ve had lots of tests and hospital stays and lots of sleepless nights. Georgia sleeps in my bed so I spend a lot of my night checking on her, Georgia's seizures are always at night and always start with a loud scream or laughing which I’ve always jumped into action with phoning an ambulance and giving rescue medications but on Georgia's last seizure I woke up to her having a seizure next to me there was no warning, no scream or cry. This has made my anxiety so bad at night times and I am genuinely scared to sleep because I need to watch my daughter to keep her safe. The Daisy Garland's generous donation of the SATs monitor now means not only can I monitor Georgia throughout a seizure until the ambulance arrives but I can also try and get some rest knowing the alarm I have set will sound if Georgia's 02 drops or her heart rate increases which is very common during her seizures.
