We can't thank The Daisy Garland with enough words for the support with funding a SATs monitor for Lily. Lily is now 7 and has had complex epilepsy all of her life. Her heart rate can get dangerously high and her oxygen can get dangerously low before and during a seizure and I have been in a constant state of worry especially at bed times when I know that I need to sleep and that I could potentially miss a seizure and the risks that come with them. Lily has previously had seizures lasting over 1.5 hours and one of the worst episodes was when her oxygen got so low that she went into respiratory arrest and had to be intubated and put into Intensive Care.  

In the back of my mind is always ' What if I miss a seizure? ', I worry when I leave to go into another room if even for a moment and the worry of seizures is a very scary thing to carry with you constantly. With the monitor that was so kindly funded by The Daisy Garland, the worry is reduced, I know I will be alerted to those seizures that affect her heart rate and oxygen and I can time the seizure, be there for her so she isn't on her own and give her any emergency medication in the right time frame and the peace of mind that gives is invaluable to me and Lily.
